“Whether it is on paper or spoken freely from the consciousness, the fact is that I Still Believe is a welcomed parting gift from Jennings at the end of his career. With other tracks such as Mama (which features Anthony Hamilton), and his current single Statistics, I Still Believe sounds like an album of great proportions, maybe even the best R&B album of the year. It is bitter sweet though, as this final output is only going to make fans yearn for more of Jennings unique voice. I Still Believe drops August 31 on Warner Bros.”

The artwork for Paul Wall’s upcoming “Heart of a Champion” album hit the net today. Paul recently talked about collaborating with many artists for the album. “Honestly I work with whoever is down to work with me. I filmed a documentary about blood diamonds with Raekwon back in 2006, so our collaboration has been ‘in the works’ for a while…..The same goes for Jim Jones. Yelawolf came by the studio to work on Travis Barker’s solo album, and I just happened to be there recording also, so that was a blessing. I also have a song with Bun B and Kid Sister. Like I said though, I work with who ever is down to work with me.”
Paul Wall recently talked about working with Travis Barker on his upcoming album and how he says, Barker is great at hip hop production. “That’s what a lot of people are assuming [as it being rock], but his Hip-Hop production is amazing,” he said in an interview. “You wouldn’t even guess that the worlds most popular/talented drummer is producing these tracks. Since he plays the drums, I think he has a different perspective on production. His style is definitely very unique. But I really don’t feel that there is a rock sound in the tracks he produced for my album. There is one song called ‘Heart of a Hustler’ that does have it, but the other six songs he produced don’t.”
We can’t wait for this album to drop!

In anticipation of her forthcoming album, former Roc-A-Fella signee Teairra Mari will be releasing a mixtape with DJ Drama. This mixtape has yet to receive a title but production for the mixtape will begin in the coming weeks. DJ Drama and his Aphilliates hit makers are known for their successful mixtapes and when asked to be a part of the movement, Teairra Mari was thrilled to be his first female R&B client.
“Actually, DJ Drama chose me. He said he was doing an R&B mixtape, he had just done one with Chris Brown,” she explained in an interview.
“He normally does Hip-Hop music. He was like, ‘I want you to be the first female I use for my R&B mixtape.’ So I agreed. DJ Drama does the biggest mixtapes. He charges people to do them.
Teairra Mari mentioned that she recorded over tracks such as Waka Flocka’s summer anthem, O Let’s Do It and Usher’s Daddy’s Home but will be using newer joints as it won’t release until later on this year.
“With this mixtape, first I did a remix to Usher’s Daddy’s Home and another one to Waka Flocka’s song O Let’s Do It, but I was like, I’m just gonna do newer stuff because by the time the mixtape comes out that’ll be kinda old. It’s going to be remixes of songs that are out or maybe even throwback songs. I might do some old-school R&B songs. There’s no title yet. I’ve been contemplating a few titles in my head. We’ll be working on this asap, probably in the next three to four weeks.”
Teairra Mari’s second studio album titled At That Point features production by Rico Love, The Runners, and The Underdogs. Features on the album include Nicki Minaj, Soulja Boy, Gucci Mane, and many more. A release date for the album has yet to be set.
In other news, Teairra Mari recently shot a straight to DVD comedy movie called The Magnificant Cooly-T and she will also appear in the upcoming summer movie Lottery Ticket which will star Bow Wow and Brandon T. Jackson.

Even in the first day of its release, Gucci’s new mixtape “The Burrprint 2 HD” is setting precedents and grabbing attention the Washington Post features the album in an article. They had this to say:
“Although most of “The Burrrprint 2 HD” consists of tracks recorded before Gucci was shipped off for his most recent jail stint, following a probation violation, verses submitted via prison phone are powerful because of their muffled, gritty quality, not in spite of it. On the “Live From Fulton County Jail” intro, Gucci spits collect-call bars with the urgency of someone who knows the stunt could get his phone privileges revoked…”
They go on to claim this mixtape is “exactly the sort of thing to successfully tide fans over until the rapper comes home.” (Read the full article here!) And it seems they may be right, Gucci’s street album has already hit #1 on itunes top albums chart. You can purchase the street album here!
