It may not be the case now, but at one time Sean Combs’ company Bad Boy Records was at the top of the music industry food chain. In recent years, the one-man-media-center did have to become the face of his own label due to the lack of artists, (or his reluctance to put them out) but his highly successful Making The Band series assured the public once again that there are more people on his label than just him alone.

But once upon time that logo with the baby wearing a diaper, construction boots, and his little cute baseball cap turned backwards, while pumping his teeny-tiny fist would’ve been any CEO’s dream to own, because the company harbored names like Faith Evans, Black Rob, The LOX, Mase, Carl Thomas, Total, G. Dep, 112, and of course The Notorious B.I.G.

The all-star lineup that would probably make George Steinbrenner tip his hat carried the label until they all started to vanish into thin air one at a time. Some left because they thought it would be a better career move, and others just flat-out fell off the face of the earth. There’s been a lot of noise a-brewing over the last couple of days that Slim of 112’s Atlanta based label M3 Productions is in the works to sign Faith Evans. It’s big news and although it hasn’t been confirmed yet, Slim’s manager is speaking very confident that it will go down.

During their brief relationship, she was with him during the whole Fifty & Cam beef and she discloses in the book how Curtis was actually nervous about having a beef with Killa.

His more frequent outings of late has sparked much anticipation of his return to the studio. With exclusive videos hitting YouTube recently, this could be hint that an album may soon be in the works. Can anyone say “Crime Pays.”

Who would have thought MJ himself was a UGK fan. His Jordan Brand company has created a limited edition pair of Pimp C sneakers aligned in shiny alligator skin and sold as a Jordan 1.

Fellow UGK member Bun B has already received a pair and hopefully the sneaker will help keep Pimp’s spirit alive.

Remember back in the day when Scarface and 2Pace contributed on the 1997 smash hit “Smile,” well here’s that very same video that bridged together the profound talent of 2Pac before his untimely death with that of the legendary Scarface one last time.

Mike Jones, Bun B and other well known rap artists are set to do a free concert in Dallas, TX for those that get HIV tested.

The free concert is being organized and sponsored by the AID’s Outreach Center of Forth Worth. The concert will take place at Dallas City Hall September 14th.

The 17 track LP drops September 16th and features Hurricane Chris, C-Murder, Alfamega and more.
